Yes, BMW is planning this far ahead into the future.
If you want an example of innovation, take a long, hard look at this automaker. Recently, they've delved into creating self-driving cars as a way of providing a taxi service to their customers, and now they're on the move with the 8-Series. This is going to be a luxury line that the company hasn't quite seen before.
Recently, BMW released the rendering photo of the 8-Series, and the model was recently spied during testing, which you can see by clicking here.
Production for this high-class model series will take place at the main BMW plant in Germany, starting around sometime in 2019. Lexus, Maserati, and Mercedes-Benz, watch out. BMW just might knock you off the face of the Earth.
