Which Vehicles Are Eligible?
  • Every new vehicle at Principle BMW of San Antonio includes the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty, no mileage or age restriction.
  • Certified pre-owned and used vehicles qualify with:
    • Fewer than 70,000 miles at time of sale, and
    • Less than 8 years old
  • Lifted (up to 6") and lowered (up to 3") vehicles remain eligible.
A note on exclusions: A small number of high-performance and specialty models are excluded from coverage - commercial-use vehicles, taxis, and select high-performance trims among them. Ask your advisor to confirm your specific vehicle before you buy, or see dealership for the full eligibility list.

What does the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty cover?
Your engine, transmission, turbo/supercharger, transfer unit (4x4/AWD), drive axle assembly, and seals & gaskets - all internally lubricated parts, plus related external components if damaged by an internal failure or manufacturer defect.

Which vehicles qualify?
Every new vehicle, and every certified pre-owned or used vehicle with fewer than 70,000 miles and less than 8 years old at the time of sale. A small number of high-performance and specialty models are excluded, ask your advisor to confirm.

How long does the coverage last?
For as long as you, the original purchaser, own the vehicle.

What's my deductible?
$100 per covered repair.

Can I transfer the warranty if I sell my vehicle?
No, this warranty is non-transferable and non-cancelable. It protects you as the original purchaser.

What if I break down away from home?
You're covered anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. If a covered breakdown leaves your vehicle inoperable, we'll reimburse up to $80 in towing costs from a licensed towing company.

Do I need to do anything to activate this warranty?
No, it's included automatically on every eligible vehicle at the time of sale. No paperwork, no additional cost.

Is normal wear and tear covered?
No. Like any warranty, normal wear, fluid seepage, and parts not listed in your coverage aren't included. Your advisor can walk you through exactly what's covered on your vehicle.

The Principle Promise Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty is non-transferable and non-cancelable, subject to a $100 deductible per covered repair. Coverage applies to internally lubricated parts of the engine, transmission, turbo/supercharger, transfer unit, and drive axle assembly, and related seals and gaskets, as described in the warranty contract.
