The future of vehicles just keeps getting closer and closer. And BMW is leading the charge.

BMW has just announced that they're in the process of making an all-electric version of the BMW X3 crossover. Now the automakers have access to electrically powered cars, the idea of gasoline-powered rides is becoming less and less popular. For years, car companies have searched for a way to power vehicles just on electricity, and soon most new cars will all run on it.

And that includes the BMW X3.

Our BMW dealership in San Antonio is very excited at the prospect of an electric-powered BMW X3. Just think -- you'll never have to stop at the gas station again! All you'd need to do is charge your vehicle overnight while it sits in the garage, and the next morning you're ready to go.

The new version of the BMW X3 will be out sometime in 2019, so we're not that far off.

If you haven't noticed, BMW has really been on the move lately when it comes to producing electric cars. Recently, the company has made a drastic change in their workforce, hiring experts to work in the electric-powered vehicle movement.

They've also produced an EV edition of the BMW i8. Click here to see it and read about it.
