Gasoline and human-driven vehicles are getting closer and closer to their end.
Do you remember growing up and watching futuristic films where the vehicles looked like something from outer space, and drove themselves? That's finally about to become a reality, thanks to BMW.
Our BMW dealership in San Antonio, TX has closely followed this story over the past year, because the company has been very busy with autonomous driving and doing away with gas-powered models.
The company has officially announced that their BMW iNext, which will be named the BMW i5 when it rolls onto dealership lots, will be ready to go by 2021. It will be completely electric, self-driven and fully connected.
BMW has also built a development base just outside of Munich, in order to get ready for the autonomous movement. Over 2,000 employees will be hired.
This isn't the only innovation that BMW is working on these days. Recently, the company announced their car-sharing program, which works like Uber, except there isn't a driver. You can read more on it by clicking here.
What do you think about BMW's upcoming model in 2021? Do you like the idea of self-driven, all-electric vehicles? Let us know in a comment on our Facebook page. We'd love to hear from you.
