The future has arrived.

Taxi service is officially changing, all thanks to BMW. The company has released their car sharing program called ReachNow, which is now available in select areas of Seattle, Portland and New York City. These are serving as the big test areas, to make sure the service runs as smoothly as they anticipate.

Our BMW dealership in San Antonio has followed this story for quite some time now, because it excites us. We're a big city, so our hope is that we'll have ReachNow here in San Antonio soon enough.

ReachNow operates through a smartphone app. The app instructs the user which vehicle to use, and they can also reserve a car up to 30 minutes before they get behind the wheel. Drivers have to have a clean driving record, be 21 years of age, with a driver's license.

Drivers pay for the driving by the minute: 40 cents a minute. So, let's say you get behind the wheel for 20 minutes. That's $8. That's a very reasonable price, if you ask us.

You can read more about the ReachNow application by clicking here.
