BMW is trying their hand at a new skill: building the world’s fastest racing drone. They are collaborating with the Drone Racing League (DRL) in an attempt to break the current Guinness world speed record set by the reigning fastest drone and to further develop high-performance and professional racing drones.

BMW is offering its technical expertise and wind tunnel at its Aerodynamic Test Center to help the league break the record that was set with the DRL RacerX drone. They also plan to bring a DRL race to their BMW Welt exhibition center and museum in Munich, Germany.

A year after its launch, a Michigan-based startup shuttle company, May Mobility, is making big strides toward city shuttle autonomy with the help of BMW.

One of the most exciting demos is an autonomous i3 electric vehicle that can be summoned by phone. In the highly controlled demo, the passenger takes a seat in the back where they can access a rear seat entertainment system.
