Certified CenterParkmobile, the leading provider of mobile parking and transit solutions in North America, has announced its partnership with BMW to create an integrated parking solution allowing drivers to find, pay for, renew, and even reserve parking spaces. The availability of its full-platform capabilities as an integrated OEM is now being offered in all new BMW vehicles.
What was once only available in an app is now featured in new BMW vehicle lines, leveraging some models’ navigation and GPS systems to find parking. Parkmobile-enabled BMW cars will prompt drivers to find a parking space through their dashboard screens, and is being deemed as the “industry’s first automated on-street and off-street reservations parking system.”
The process actually doesn’t even require drivers to open the app through their smartphone, rather, it can be accessed directly from their in-car dashboard screen. Gone are the days of physically exiting your car and paying the meter! (And we aren’t upset.)
The new system functions similarly to the existing app. Vehicles prepopulate parking options based on GPS coordinations which allows for one-touch parking. Drivers can even pre-select the amount of time they’d like to purchase and manage/extend their parking sessions using the Parkmobile app.
While it’s currently only offered in the following markets, Parkmobile continues to expand on different regions throughout the US and has many more launches planned in the coming months. Washington, DC, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Kansas City, MO are currently the cities supporting Parkmobile’s innovative and comprehensive app for parking.
