BMW has consistently been ahead of the game in the auto industry. Their forward thinking and dedication to customer satisfaction is the reason why they've stayed the most popular and iconic brand in the luxury business.
And now, they're thinking even bigger. BMW recently showcased one of their futuristic concept models, which is unlike anything the industry has ever seen. Do you remember reading books and magazines 20 years ago, when authors depicted cars today as floating and autonomous?
Well, we haven't gotten to that point just yet, but thanks to BMW, that's right around the corner.
After BMW showed off their new design in London, they officially announced that in the coming years that traditional vehicles will be just an option, and the line will consist of floating robo-like cars.
"It opens up millions of new customers who would really like to have a premium car but maybe can't afford one or live in a city where they can't park one," BMW head of sales Ian Robertson says. "If you can reach new customers, then the scope and the scale of what we are in the business with today takes a massive, massive reach forward."
These cars can drive by themselves, and they can change colors to whatever the driver wants. BMW expects these models to be prevalent in taxi services, too.
Our BMW dealership in San Antonio is ecstatic about this new technology. While we're still a few years away from it coming to life, it'll be much sooner than we think.
