BMW fans have been waiting for this. And now, at long last, it's coming.
Our BMW dealership in San Antonio is proud to announce that Apple CarPlay is officially arriving in BMW cars all throughout North America and Europe! This is a huge deal.
Staring in the 2017 M3, M4, X5 M and X6 M models, Apple CarPlay will be available. It'll be a $300 feature.
The reason why Apple CarPlay is such a popular commodity in today's vehicles is because not only does it provide a familiar information database, but it makes driving safer.
We all know it's quite tempting to look down at your smartphone while driving. But thanks to Apple CarPlay, you can wirelessly connect your smartphone device to the car's dashboard and access many of its features from there. This eliminates the thought of most drivers checking their phone while operating the vehicle.
Siri's voice commands the feature, and allows you to send and receive texts, make calls, use navigation, jam your music and listen to audiobooks or podcasts.
And don't be alarmed. Apple CarPlay doesn't take away the standard infotainment system that are usually in BMW vehicles. It's only a feature. All you have to do is exit Apple CarPlay and return to the standard interface to use your backup camera, Sirius XM, adjusting the climate temperature and more.
We're very excited about Apple CarPlay coming to BMW. It's a feature that's going to make driver easier, and safer.
