14 Reasons to Love Texas Even More

We love Texas. But if you ask us why, it’s a little hard to explain. Whether you’re Texas born and raised or have lived here only a short amount of time, you know there’s just something special about this great state.

BMW of San Antonio has served Texas for many years and we feel blessed to call this place home. We asked our team their thoughts on why there’s so much Texas love and pride, and we think they nailed it.

Here’s 14 Reasons We Love Texas:

1. The State Fair - Our local and state fairs are consistently ranked as some of the best in the United States. If you're looking for awesome entertainment and outrageous fried foods, look no further than the State Fair of Texas.

2. Blue Bell - Remember how it felt like the world was ending when we couldn’t eat Blue Bell and there’s no other ice cream that compares?

3. Beautiful scenery - As big as Texas is, it’s no wonder that we have such a diverse landscape. From Big Bend to Texas Hill Country to the Big Thicket, we have it all.

4. Southern Hospitality - We think Texas has some of the nicest and most kind-hearted people. It’s rare to end a sentence without “Ma’am” or “Sir.”

5. Texas-Shaped Everything - Texas-shaped waffles. Texas-shaped pools. Texas-shaped steaks. If it can be shaped like Texas, better believe someone already has done it. Texas-shaped tortilla chips. Texas-shaped mirrors. We could go on and on.

6. Incredible Economy - Texas has one of the fastest growing economies in the nation. Plus, we’re home to more than 50 Fortune 500 companies.

7. Football - No one does Friday Night Lights quite like Texas. The spirit and pride every Texas football team has - high school, college and professional - makes you feel like you’re at the Super Bowl every game.

8. Bluebonnets - We’ll never tire of these beautiful blooms that blanket the side of the road. Even after that one year the annual bluebonnet picture went terribly wrong because of fire ants...

9. The Language - Call it Tex-Mex, Spanglish, or something else all together. Only in Texas will you find a rich and complex blend of Spanish and English.

10. Seasonal Changes - While most of the state remains warmer than average throughout the year, Texas still experiences every season. Unlike some states, we can enjoy Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter….sometimes all in the same crazy week!

11. Bucee’s - Any real Texan will tell you, no road trip is completely without a stop or two at Bucee’s. It puts all other travel stops to shame.

12. Texas Flag and Pledge - Nowhere else in the country will you find a state flag flying at the same height as the American flag. Likewise, no other state has its own pledge of allegiance.

13. Whataburger - We could probably right 10 reasons of why we love Whataburger itself. But we’ll stick with three: chicken strips with gravy, open 24 hours, and those delicious honey butter chicken biscuits.

14. No Place Like Home - Once you’ve lived in Texas, you’ll compare everywhere else to our great state. And you’ll find Texas just does it better than anyone else.
