We all love a good road trip -- at least every once in awhile. It's a great escape and a perfect way to see incredible views and historic monuments.
Fortunately, we live in a place that has some of the most breathtaking scenery and memorable sites that America has to offer. Texas is filled with road trip-worthy activities.

1) Fossil Discovery Exhibit (Big Bend)
It's not ready just yet, but here in a few weeks, Big Bend is opening a fossil exhibit where you can check out life-sized fossils that came from an excavation site. There is also plenty of hands-on exhibits for the kids, too, so be sure to bring your children!
2) Cadillac Ranch (Amarillo, TX)
Yes, it's exactly what you think it is: a ranch full of Cadillacs. It's a very interesting and unique piece of art that would be a great opportunity to get some photos for your social media pages. It's just along the famous Route 66, so on the way you'll see old gas stations, buildings, hotels and more.
3) Northeast Texas Trails (East Texas)
Seriously, these trails look so fun to drive on. This trail is over 100 miles long, and goes through quaint Texas towns that will surely provide phenomenal scenery along the way.
4) Gorman Falls (Colorado Bend State Park)
One of Texas' most amazing hidden gems is this 60-foot tall waterfall in the depths of Colorado Bend State Park. All it takes is a 1.5 mile hike to get to. And it's not overly popular, so there won't be a ton of foot traffic. You and the family will be able to enjoy the scenery in peace.
5) B&F Diner (Royse City, TX)
It's not a REAL road trip until you stop at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, right? Yep. That's why we've chosen one of our favorites in all of Texas, which specializes in burgers and fries. You can also get breakfast food, sandwiches, salads and more. And it's all absolutely mouth-watering food.
