Here's the Best Museums in San Antonio as selected by our team at BMW of San Antonio:

McNay Art Museum - The McNay museum opened to the public in 1954 with a generous art collection and endowment gifted by heiress Marion Koogler upon her death. Today it's home to nearly 20,000 works of art including Medieval and Renaissance Art, art glass, art of New Mexico, 19th through 21st century European and American paintings, sculptures and photographs and more.

San Antonio Museum of Art - Home to the largest and most comprehensive collection of Egyptian, Greek and Roman as well as Asian art in the southern United States, the Museum of Art opened to the public in 1981. Other collections include Latin American art, contemporary art and regional art.

The DoSeum - Founded in 1995, San Antonio's Museum for Kids underwent a great renovation and expansion in 2008. The hands-on exhibits are dedicated to children's learning and development in creative arts, sciences and literacy.

The Witte Museum - The Witte Museum was initiated by a botanist and high school teacher in 1923 with a yearly operating budget of $100. Today, exhibitions include revolutionary experiences in health, science and history. A beautiful new facility is in development for the Witte with expected opening dates in 2016 and 2017.
