Oktoberfest (October 2-3 and 9-10) - The event is hosted by Beethoven Mennerchor, a volunteer organization seeking to preserve German song, music and language. Held at the Beethoven Halle und Garten, festivities will include music, food, dancing and of course, beer.

Gruene Music & Wine Fest (October 8-11) - A unique four day festival with four distinct events, the Gruene Music & Wine Fest brings together more than 30 Texas wineries, craft vendors, food and great Texas tunes.

Luminaria (October 23-24) - This contemporary arts festival features works by regional, national and international artist. Events include workshops, exclusive artist luncheons and a panel discussion to celebrate dancers, actors, poets, musicians, filmmakers and visual artists alike.

El Dia de los Muertos (October 24-25) - La Villita Historic Arts Village presents a two-day event with an art market, hands-on workshops, alter exhibit as well as dancing, drums and puppets.

Fall Country Fest at Devine Acres Farm (weekends in October) - A family-owned and family-friendly destination, activities include hayrides, train rides, mazes, gemstone mining and more.
