Do you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer? Numbers show you probably do. It is estimated that more than 220,000 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer every year. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we at BMW of San Antonio thought we'd take the opportunity to join in the campaign to bring awareness.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
When detected early, the 5 year survival rate for breast cancer is 99%.
But there is hope. Breast cancer fatality rates have steadily declined since 1990. This is due in part to increasing awareness, improving treatment options as well as better screening and early detection.
While people are better informed of the fight against breast cancer than ever before, you might not know how you can best get involved. Many organizations in San Antonio provide support to those battling breast cancer, promote research programs as well as host events to educate and fundraise.
Here's a few organizations and events supporting Breast Cancer Awareness that we encourage you to check out:
Susan G. Komen San Antonio - Started in 1997 by a group of local survivors, the San Antonio chapter alone has dedicated $17.2 million to support local patients with no other options for breast cancer care.
Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation - Founded in 1993 by four breast cancer survivors, the foundation is dedicated to the identification of the cause, prevention and cure of breast cancer as well as providing quality care for all women.
Cured at Pearl - During the month of October, Cured will feature a special cocktail and donate one dollar for each one ordered to the American Cancer Society - San Antonio.
Texas Wine Month Trail - More than 45 wineries in the Hill Country will be participating in the special month-long tasting event. $5 of every ticket sold will be donated to Susan G Komen.
