Annabelle Kanzow-Coffinet is a professional scent developer who's spent the past three years creating the smell of the all-new BMW 7 Series. The atmosphere within the 7 Series can be accentuated with the optional Ambient Air package. This package features options to ionize the air or fragrance the interior with a selection of scents controlled from the console or iDrive menu. There are three levels of scent intensity and 8 scents to choose from amongst four categories Blue Suite, Green Suite, Golden Suite and Authentic Suite.
"Each scent has a special natural character and is as multifaceted as the BMW brand itself," explained Annabelle. "One of the special pleasures of owning a new car is the special scent of the new car."
Subtle, pleasant fragrances fill the interior of the car at the touch of the button, further giving passengers the ability to connect their cars’ ambience with their mood. The Golden and the Authentic Suite have woody, natural characteristics while the Blue and the Green Suite are refreshing water or plant based scents. All use natural raw materials and the highest quality materials. By minimizing the inherent new car smell and introducing these scents, BMW has given the brand its own scent identity and made the emotion of the brand tangible on a multidimensional level.
