At the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW took safety to the next level with their Concept X5 Security Plus. We suppose this is good news for all the public officials who formerly had to throw either style or caution to the wind.
Now, when they're making their rounds through turbulent regions, they can do so safely and in the utmost comfort. And when we say 'safely', we mean safely. Due to its sealed joints and armored passenger cell, this prototype can deflect gunfire, thwart kidnapping attempts, and obviously shrug off your common highway thief without so much as a struggle.
Under the hood the crossover sports a twin-turbocharged, V8 mill that challenges the open road with a 450 power rating. This Concept X5 Security Plus will likely not make its way into production, but if the pull of all those ponies perked you up, don't worry. You can get the same power train setup in the X5 that's sitting in our BMW of San Antonio showroom.
