The 2 Series Convertible is BMW's nimble and engaging sporty chariot, perfect for someone looking for an exciting commute.

After a thorough overhaul and receiving two new engines last year, the 2018 2 Series received minor tweaks to the latest model. Touches of chrome, new high-gloss black trim, metallic exterior color options, and four new wheel designs are some of what consumers can expect to find new for 2018.

The 2 Series ranked #3 in Luxury Small Cars and in Luxury Convertibles for obvious reasons. With seating for four, the standard synthetic leather upholstery and intuitive iDrive infotainment system make for a pleasant ride. Features like Bluetooth, HD Radio, push-button start, automatic climate control, and rain-sensing windshield wipers come standard. Optional features include an 8.8-inch touch screen, 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound system, navigation, wireless smartphone charger, and a wi-fi hotspot.

The 2 Series base engine sports a 2.0-liter turbo-four that produces 248 horsepower and delivers 23 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. Its handing is precise and maintains composure even when aggressively carving corners.

The IIHS awarded the 2017 2 Series with its highest honor of their Top Safety Pick+ for scoring the highest score in all crash evaluations and for the second highest score of Advanced for front crash prevention. The 2018 model looks to continue on the same path of improving safety and we will update you with the latest results after testing has concluded.
