BMW's 2017 X1 may be the brand's smallest compact-luxury vehicle (or as they like to call it: SAV for Sports Activity Vehicle), but it doesn't lack on luxury or capability.

Last year proved to be the biggest overhaul for the X1, but the SUV does see one major change in 2017: the addition of a front-drive sDrive28i to its lineup. Sports seats are now a stand-alone option, and the preference of the M package will add the M sport suspension.

The 2-row, 5-seat X1 provides plenty of room for passengers and cargo. Sliding and reclining rear seats are also an option for an additional charge for passengers who prefer to get extra cozy. The interior materials look premium with the lasting effect of sporty chic.

Stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, multiple airbags, hill descent control, and the BMW Assist emergency communications system all come as standard safety features. The BMW Assist provides automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle recovery, and on-demand roadside assistance. Optional safety features such as rearview cameras, parking sensors, and collision warning are available add-ons.
