Of the many automakers presenting at this year’s Paris Motor Show, BMW had one of the most eventful and exciting times of them all. To kick things off, the highly-anticipated and fully-updated 2019 BMW 3 Series was finally unveiled to plenty of praise and excitement from fans around the world. And then--to much delight--BMW Chairman Harald Krüger officially confirmed that BMW will indeed be launching an all-new electric vehicle slated to debut in 2021. Simply known as the BMW i4 (for the moment), there have been no official details released about the upcoming electric vehicle apart from its release date, but that doesn’t stop us from using available information to try to predict what’s coming to this enigmatic new ride.

The fourth electric vehicle to make its way to the BMW lineup, the BMW i4 will very likely follow in the footsteps of the i Vision Dynamics concept car which debuted last year. BMW revealed that the i Vision Dynamics would be able to travel up to 373 miles on an electric charge and could go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 125 MPH. With performance statistics like that, the BMW i4 is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. Unlike the existing BMW i3 and i8, the BMW i4 will not have a carbon-fiber body. The upcoming BMW i4 will, however, most certainly feature radical, futuristic design elements that have become indicative of BMW’s electric lineup. Before the i4 arrives on the scene in 2021, the BMW Group plans to release three newly updated electric vehicles--the Mini Electric in 2019, the BMW iX3 in 2020, and the BMW iNext also in 2021. The future of cars is electrifying, and BMW has made sure they will be leading the pack.
